Singer-songwriter Beth De Bacci drops her brand-new single, “Waking Up (Acoustic),” written by Beth and DMNIQ and produced by Brookfield.
Beth explains, “For me, ‘Waking Up’ encompasses the feeling of living in a daydream with someone you are longing to be with, but in reality, you´re too scared to confess your feelings to them.”
“Waking Up” follows on the heels of Beth’s EP, The Human Experience, featuring “New Place, New Moment,” which appeared on Disney’s fantasy series, The Owl House.
A classically trained pianist since the age of seven, by age 12 Beth was writing her first pop songs. Later, she performed at open mics. Yet at 18, she called it quits, opting to study science at university. After graduating, she became a pharmaceutical sales rep.
Unhappy and unfulfilled creatively, she began to make music again, followed by working with Management Team Madding Crowd, resulting in attention from BBC Introducing, particularly BBC Radio Solent and BBC Radio Devon, and sharing the stage with artists such as Matt Cardle and Billy Lockett.
In 2023, Beth signed her first major publishing deal and will be taking off on her first UK tour this fall, as well as working on new material for 2024.
“Waking Up” opens on a low-slung piano, gorgeously graceful and evocative. Beth’s velvety, redolent voice rides overhead, projecting deliciously tender, quixotic timbres, dripping with passion. Under exquisite control, it’s one of those transcendent voices, revealing warm coloration, superb phrasing, and tonal luster.
Beth De Bacci has it going on! Although stripped down to nothing more than a voice and a piano, “Waking Up” is beautifully bewitching.
