Lauren Faith is an up and coming singer-songwriter who is set to be the next big name on everyone’s lips.
If you went to see Craig David on his Following My Intuition tour, then you’ll already be familiar with Lauren. She supported him across the tour and even had the opportunity to perform live with him in front of thousands of fans. Their working partnership stems back even further than that – Lauren co-wrote two songs on his latest album, also called Following My Intuition.
After already made big waves in the industry, Lauren has since released her first solo track, the ever so slick ‘Let Them Talk’. This fierce musician has talent, style and attitude in bucket loads and is well on her way to becoming one of the UK’s hottest female artists.
We recently caught up with Lauren to talk about ‘Let Them Talk’, working with Craig David, and much more.
Congratulations on the release of your first debut track, ‘Let Them Talk’. Can you tell us about the track and the inspiration behind it?
Thank you very much! So ‘Let Them Talk’ is a statement track to anyone who’s ever been in a situation where they’ve been hurt by people’s comments /opinions and then the complete flip side into the transition of literally not being phased by them anymore. We’ve all been in a situation once where people are gossiping about us or someone else and it’s a shrug your shoulders, don’t let it get you down and keep it moving forward message. The production is by upcoming producer Lostboy who is awesome.

What’s your favourite lyric from the song?
My favourite lyric is from the chorus : “Whatever we say whatever we do, people gon’ talk ain’t that the truth.”
Are there any plans for a music video? If so, what can we expect from it?
At the moment no plans for a music video, but there are definitely future videos on the horizon.
You first came to our attention when we saw you support Craig David on tour (you were awesome btw!). You also appear on his album – how did that all first come about?
Ahh amazing! Thank you!!!!! So back in April/May 2015 Craig’s manager Matt Dodds reached out to me and got in touch with me in regards with writing something for Craig’s new album – I was like OMG I love CD, it would love to! So we pencilled in three dates and those three dates ended up becoming the songs you hear now, ‘Got it Good’ and ‘Sink or Swim’.
You’ve performed and written with Craig – what’s he like to work with?
He is goals!! He’s a great writer, incredible vocalist and such a good role model. Craig has truly committed his life to music and he’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in this industry.
What was your favourite moment from the Following My Intuition tour?
Oooo, good question. My favourite moment would have to be when Craig asked me to join him on his set to perform ‘Got it Good’ at the Liverpool show – just seeing all his fans and feeling the energy from the whole arena was amazing but then getting to sing with Craig is a moment I’ll never forget.

You’ll perform a debut London headline show in May, which is already sold out. How are you feeling ahead of the show and what can fans expect on the night?
I’m feeling a little nervous but feeling really good about it at the same time. I’m just excited to showcase of all my new unreleased music now to people and to see how they react!
You’ve spent a lot of this year on tour – what are your three must have items for when you’re on the road?
A really good neck pillow, moisturiser and a portable phone charger.
You’ve already done some incredible collaborations. Who else would you love to collaborate with in the future?
Oh I would love to work with Pharrell Williams!!
What’s been the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Just to never stop dreaming, work hard, spread love and always believe.
What does the rest of 2017 have in store for Lauren Faith?
More music!!
Thank you to the awesome Lauren Faith for her time! We’re certain that she has an exciting future ahead of her, so make sure you check her out. ‘Let Them Talk is available to download and stream now.
