A pedestrian is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a train in Adelaide.
The incident happened at about 1.30pm on Wednesday near where Terminus St becomes McLean Ave in Grange.
South Australia Police said the impact caused the person life-threatening injuries, before they were taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance.
“There were no other reports of injury,” said SA Police in a statement.
“Train services in the area have been disrupted while police investigate the collision.
“The public is asked to avoid the area if possible.”
The incident isn’t being treated as potential suicide, rather a “horrible accident,” said police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make an anonymous report online.
It follows a similar incident on Tuesday morning in which an 11-year-old boy was left in a critical condition after being hit by a train in Evanston Gardens, also in Adelaide.
